Current Resume

Melissa Verton Rinvold, born Chicago, October 13, 1955

Yogini, Artist, Dancer, Musician, Author and teacher of Fine Arts (painting & ceramic sculpture),

Modern Dance (including Movement Therapy) and Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist.

Practitioner of yoga and meditation since the age of 17 (45 years) and teacher of Yoga for more than 20 years.

I came to yoga when I was 17 after injuring my spine. When I healed from this nearly crippling injury through simple yoga practices and breathing techniques, I was convinced of the power of yoga.  After my recovery, I studied dance and art and practiced yoga extensively for years. I started teaching yoga exclusively at the 28th year of my yoga practice in Vernon, BC in 2000.  I have taught at Ladies’ World, Fitness West, Reflex, BodyFit (now Kal Fitness), the Vernon Dance Centre and Kindale Developmental Centre, during the past 10 years. I have worked individually with people challenged with injury, illness, disease, and/or emotional and psychological issues, all with a focus on

Yoga for healing and emotional well being (Yoga therapy).
